Turnitin and GradeMark are online services that have been integrated with Blackboard. Here is a brief discussion of these services.

Turnitin is an online service that checks the originality of student papers – and ensures that proper citation methods have been used. Every paper is checked against an online database containing papers, journal articles, and material from web sites. After you submit your paper to Turnitin, your professor receives an “Originality Report.” This report provides your professor the opportunity to teach students proper citation methods as well as to safeguard students’ academic integrity. Turnitin provides a very helpful site with tips for students on citing sources.
