Office365 for SWBTS Students

Here at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, we are able to provide every active student with a copy of Microsoft Office 2013 through a seminary sponsored Office 365 online account.  The link below takes you to a document that explains how to install your copy on either your Windows based PC or Mac.  Please remember that you must uninstall the software if/when you are no longer an active student.

  1. Hello,

I was signed up for a course this fall, and due to a job opportunity had to move to “audit” status. I will be taking a class in the spring. Since I moved from active to audit status, will I need to uninstall office365? I’m getting those messages that say “your session has expired — enter your e-mail and password connected to this account.” When I put in my seminary e-mail and password, it does not accept it.

Do I need to uninstall and then reinstall in January?

    1. Hi Chris,

Students in audit-only status do not have access to MS Office in Office 365, but you will have access to your email. You do not need to uninstall, but you will have read-only access until you are taking a course for credit. Thank you for the question.

    1. Hello! Yes, you may use Microsoft Word for your papers. At Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, all active students are able to download a copy of Microsoft Office. Follow this link to get all the details: http://technology.swbts.edu/office365-for-swbts-students/

      Thank you for your comment.

  2. Hi,

Do the SWBTS students have 1TB OneDrive with Office365? If so, what will happen to the files stored in OneDrive when the Office license is no longer valid?

    1. It does appear that students have 1 TB of data available at this time. When a student is no longer in active status they lose Office 365 (except for email) so you would have to move this to a different form of storage. Thank you for your questions.

  3. Mi office no me permite subir nada a one drive. Qué puedo hacer?

      Bendiciones,

      Wendy

  4. Hello

So are you allowed to download office 365 on multiple devices? Like a desktop and laptop?

    Thank you

    1. Yes, you are allowed to have the same license on up to 5 devices. As always, these licenses will expire when you are no longer an active student.

      Thank you.

  5. Hi I have a subscription for Microsoft from SWBTS but I just need to enter a product key to renew the subscription I got last year. Can you give me the info I need please? 🙂

    1. Hi,
You should be able to just log out and then log back in with your student email address and password for it to work. If this doesn’t work please let us know.

      Thank you!

  6. I am getting a message that the license I have with SWBTS does not allow me to edit word document in MAC. This is a new message just appears when I downloaded a word document to my Mac. The message also says I need to check my Admin about this issue.
    Could you help?

  7. Hello,

I’m new to the use of Office 365. It appears that this suite is available for use as online documents. Do I actually need to download on a computer to access the full functionality?

    Thanks!
